Car turned off on freeway
While I was on my way to work this morning, my car suddenly turned off.
Turns out my coolant exploded. Pulled over and right when I stopped my car started rattling and I turned off my car, waited for about 5 min and took off. Car ran like nothing happened. I am at work now so I am planning to stop by the dealer on my break to add some more coolant. Would this fix my issue? Anyone know why might this have happened? Thanks everyone. |

wow, sounds like your thermostat stuck closed. You will have to replace your thermostat and water pump. Indy shop price will range between 600-800
Dealership? 1200 plus so dont go there... Keep us posted. |

It's strange this is not the first time this has happened to me. The first time I was on my way to Vegas and my car overheated. I went to a local BMW shop got coolant, topped it off, and it was good, until it came back.
This is was exactly one year ago when it happened. Right now I just plan to make my way to the BMW shop and grab some coolant and top it off (mixture of water as well). I am really hoping it's not my water pump. Otherwise, I'll be driving a Suburban, and no one likes driving one of those. |
