Best F30 msport colour for senior citizens
Right I'm giving away my age with the thread but I have high hopes today of getting near an acceptable deal on a 335D Msport saloon(!) for order.
I've seen the very popular posts on Estoril Blue with Coral Red and for young enthusiasts this looks very good, full of life and personality. But what would you choose for a senior citizen? My wife took an instant like to a Mineral Grey with beige Veneto leather - I'm not sure but may be swayed. Put yourself in my place, what would you choose for your Grandad. I think Silver with Coral Red looks very German and of their motor racing heritage. By the way, the big drawback with the Msport is the way it restricts colour choice although it does open up Estoril Blue to buyers. I rather like Imperial Blue with Beige but no go with Msport and the Luxury model makes little sense in xdrive value terms compared to the Msport. Last edited by Eccles Ken; 12-17-2013 at 04:17 AM.. Personally I love Estoril Blue from years ago and had it on my old M3 as an individual option. I was really chuffed when BMW reintroduced it (albeit EB II).

I think the MG is a lovely colour, especially if you wish to be a little more discrete... I've ordered it myself for reasons of blending in a little more... However, I went for black leather as I wear denim jeans far too often. Beige is lovely. Though, blue beige isn't so good.

Now a days silver lost in germany a lot of his old spirit. Silver is an image for an outdoor salesman and nearly non of private buyers like to choose it. My proposal for you would be to choose individual colour and leather. My favorite is tansanitblue and extended leather criollo brown.

Either MG with Coral or Glacier Silver with Coral (which was my second choice after EBII).
Obviously Black leather is a discrete colour so if you want to remain that way then that's the way to go! |

Well Sir, I am a granddad (albeit a 50yr old one) and my immediate observation is choose whatever colour you want!
My view is Tanzanite Blue is the ideal "any age, any situation" colour. I don't like black or silver/grey as there are just too many cars of all types like that out there. You've already noted Imperial Blue tickles your fancy. Tell your dealer you'll place your order there and then if he agrees to Individual paint f.o.c.

I have MG with Black and I'm 37.
My Dad has an F31 330xd in Glacier Silver with Black and he's 64. Not sure age should make a difference really. I'd consider Tanzanite Blue with Cashmere if I wanted to be a bit different - it's a nice combo.

I'm 45 and have black with black with brushed aluminium trim. It also has Sun Protection glass and a sunroof (which lightens it up a bit). Personally I think the "stealth" look suits the F30 MSport as it doesn't look to "shouty" (don't get me wrong I think EB looks stunning)
On the bright side if all else fails I can set up as a drug dealer on the local sink estates |

IMVERYHO, and I am unanimous in this, the only two decent colours for M Sport cars are Estoril Blue II (head and shoulders better than any of the other hues) followed by Tanzanite Blue. The rest are so very boring.
As for the seats, the best colour is Coral Red (but not the texture of the leather) followed by Individual Cashmere Beige Merino. The rest of the colours are IMVERYHO, so awfully boring. In fact, with Dakota Venetian Beige, they have beiged nearly everything which really looks horrid and totally non-sporty.

My Dad (who is 63) owns the F30 M Sport in our household and it's in Estoril Blue. He says it brings out the youth in him when he drives it!
I'm 36 and I went for the more sedate Black Sapphire when I bought my E90!

I've put all suggestions to my wife.
she's agreed to spin a coin for choice - if it's heads it's mineral grey with beige, if it's tails it's mineral grey with beige. If it stands balanced on its edge it's estoril blue with coral red. Can't say fairer than that for being open minded. By the way the wag who posted other cars on this thread has something to answer for. My wife quite liked the little Kia but I've put my foot down here. what a choice a 335d xdrive msport or a Kia Picanto - close eh!! |

You are as old as you feel IMO (apologies), the Mineral Grey is a really good colour i love it every time i see it with the added bonus that dirt does not show up as much as say white or black. i would have gone for beige but don't like the 1/2 black 1/2 beige dashboard or the carpets. If just the seats and door panels where beige i would have taken it. Try and find a beige and look at it in person before you buy. BTW: are you going for M Sport? |
