Since you already have MY11 M3 and MY14 335i, I think F10 M5 will give your garage little bit more variety.
How about M6? To me it makes better sense to make choice between M4 and M6.

Your best option is to test drive both back to back in a perfect world I would say drive each car for 2 full days that would really help you out

I've been going over the same thing with one exception. I am also batting around doing something different along the lines of a nicely optioned X5 50i. I just test drove an M5 and an X5 a few days ago.

I'm also concerned that the lease rates on the F8x will be horrible compared with the M5.

tough choice!

M5 will most likely be easier to come by and also be able to negotiate price.

the M4 will be minimum MSRP and most dealers will be marking them over sticker and will be a little tough to get one at launch just due to the popularity. However I'm sure with a little search you will be able to find one.

I would get the M5 and let the bugs work itself out on the M4. With all the new technology they put into it I would be worried about some flap, turbo or new lightweight transmission going to crap.

Won't the March lease rates be more relevant than the current lease rates?

I really have no idea but it's possible. What kind of monthly payment are people looking at right now for the M5?

1250-1350/mo for 36m/10K (59% residual) with zero down not including taxes depending on options.

Not bad, but I assume the M3/M4 payments would be slightly lower.

They likely will but the jump from F8x to the F10 won't be huge in comparison to the actual msrp difference and considering 5-6% discount on the M5 and probably nothing on the F8x.

Wow.
I got my payments worked out to about 925 a month with a 97,025 MSRP. Just LCI lights is all.
No idea how you're getting 1250. LOL.

0 down with lights/exec/20s which is fairly typical equipment at msrp of 103500 on a 36m/10k with 59% residual and 6k of capitalized cost reduction gets you a payment around 1230/month plus taxes.

I would love to be in error on this.

Damn you must be getting the car for around 70,000 for those numbers to work out. Based on a money factor of .0012 for 36 months, a residual of 59% and no taxes or roll in costs.

Do you need a 2 door or a 4 door?

This would of made more sense if you were debating between M4 and M6.

I would wait for M4 but order it right after the rush is over.

You are going to pay more when a car first comes out. Plus, the M5 is much more expensive than your M3.

Good plan. Stow away on a freighter, and stay at the Munich Central train station, and load up on the free eats at the Welt.

Seriously...I was just quoted a payment of $1315/month, no money down, 36 months at 10k per month on a car with an MSRP of $102.5k (and price of $96.2k).
