Munich Plant Increasing production numbers of UK F30s

I have been keeping an eye on the numbers of Uk spec F30s (335d) being produced over the last few days. Typical production seems to have been 2-5 Uk spec 335d F30s.

And wow look at the increase in production in the last two days:
Gearing up for 2014 deliveries?

I am particularly please as my car is in the next 40 so might be build by the end of the week- Here's hoping!!

This as well:

BMW Group reports best November sales ever

You dont say. Hardly surprising with the discounts they have been dishing out.

How does this compare with other models like the 330d?

Afraid No idea with the other models as I only had a 335d vin to check with so all sequential numbers were all uk 335d but I would expect it to be very similar for other models.
If you have a 330d vin it's just case of putting a sequential number into the vin checker and checking the production date.

If this rate keeps up my silver machine could be built by end of this week.

Where did you get this production statistics? Do all 335d have the same number series, even the LHD? My car should also be built this Week, so I am very interested.

Edit: Got my VIN now from the dealer. It was produced on 7/12/13 (Saturday?) !

I actually hope these massive discounts end soon as I've seen how it affected the M135i resale values.

It would be nice if the 335d and 335i were relatively rare in comparison to other versions - but with the deals available just now BMW must be shifting hundreds of them if not thousands.

This can only harm resale values I can imagine, as the market will end up saturated with them at 36 and 48 months when all the PCP deals are nearing completion.

Very interesting (if somewhat geeky) bit of research you did there, thanks Dunzzy. Mine was produced just before you started your data collection, and I would say it was slower still in the preceding couple of weeks.

I've been doing something similar for the 330d… Have the numbers in my office, so I'll post them later, but, yes, long story short, like the 335d, there seemed to be a definite and significant increase in UK 330d's that went down the line last week…

I suppose a spike prior to new year registration is normal. I expect 330 and 335 models will still be pretty exclusive. Just on here we have a collective of enthusiasts.

UK-Spec 330d builds over the last couple of weeks, as reported in the VIN checker in the same VIN number sequence as mine:

330d UK-spec builds

25/11 - 1 car
26/11 - 6 cars
27/11 - 6 cars
28/11 - 6 cars
29/11 - 8 cars
30/11 - 3 cars - 30 cars for the week

02/12 - 14 cars
03/12 - 25 cars
04/12 - 32 cars
05/12 - 7 cars
06/12 - 0 cars
07/12 - 3 cars - 81 cars for the week

09/12 - 10 cars
10/12 - 17 cars
11/12 - 1 car so far

Just to give an idea of the popularity of various exterior colours, for those I have checked recently (these numbers include a few cars not included in the stats above) the spread is:

148 cars checked:

54 in Estoril Blue
34 in Mineral Grey
27 in Sapphire Black
19 in Alpine White
4 in Glacier Silver
2 in Imperial Blue
1 each in Alpina Blue, Alpina Green, Citrine Black, Melbourne Red, Mineral White, Moonstone, Smoked Topaz, Tanzanite Blue.

Mostly, the interiors are Black (117 in total), with a fair sprinkling of Red (17 in total), and a handful of other colours.

48 of these cars (33% of all checked) are in Estoril Blue with Black Interior.

Ah well, doubt they'll be many brave enough to plump for the Superman spec like me.

Guess that'll have its good and bad points!

I was pretty sure this would be the most popular combo, and it is what we've gone for. On one hand I thought it would be nice to have some exclusivity, but ultimately I thought it was the nicest looking option (IMHO) so stuck with it.

Given it's popularity new I think it's safe to say that it's a rock solid option for resale too.

These two are interesting, by the way, as they appear to be Alpina D3's destined for Japan… and the build records include what are (I think) the additional Alpina bits that go on…

I can still only think I've seen about 2 or 3 EB cars on the road. So I still think it'll be reasonably rare. I think a lot pick it because it's an M Sport only colour.

The best thing is to take your VIN number and put in something similar but 10 or 20 cars earlier and seeing what comes up. You'll eventually find where they are as of today by working forwards.

Mineral white is nice, I would have gone for it if they'd have still allowed it on the MSports.

Love the Mineral White.

I'd have probably gone for it too if it was available.

Hey thanks for that Tengocity.....

Went 10 earlier and info came up for that so I am only a day behind I guess...

My dealer still has 24-12-13 for it delivered which I guess is very optimistic after reading some of the stories on here...but fingers crossed

Can't wait......had some quick cars in the past....but upgrading from a company 318d so may notice a slight performance difference
