Noisy Rear........

Good Morning. My 3 month old 318D, is producing a loud metallic click from the rear offside quarter when turning at low speed such as coming out of a junction. It doesn't happen when cornering and only occasionaly when going over speed bumps. Theres nothing loose in the boot and it doesn't seem to matter if its warm or cold. I’m not sure if its suspension or its coming from the boot lid when the car is in twist/torsion. I remember having something similar on a hatchback which was cured by adjusting the hinges but obviously this isn’t a hatch. The cars booked in but I bet it wont perform on the day. I’ve browsed the net and there are various threads that sound similar but not quite the same. Any clues/ideas? Thanks

have you checked if there is any wheel nuts loose? When you take it for the check up by the dealer try to get it tested and confirmed by the dealer by replicating the noise and else they will say they haven't heard so in their test drive.

In my old E46 this was due to the rear shock mount being loose. In a E90 which we were planning to pick we had this similar noise which when done with a inspection by RAC engineer turned out to be the driver side rear output shaft front the diff. nothing to be scared off but make sure its well noted by the dealer and these can be rectified all the best

I've got a 318d, not same issue as yours but I get a noise on acceleration, a kind of gurgling, rattling noise. Been told it normal but I think that's rubbish, do you get it? thought I'd ask as not many 318d members around

Not had this on my 318d. Closest I can think of is last week when I had a stone caught in my wheel, but it only lasted a few hundred metres before it worked its way out.
