How are the Vossens? Would like to get a set in the future but people have been giving me second thoughts when quality is brought up. Their designs are great...

I am running these same wheels and I will vouch for Vossens quality. From the finish to the durability are awesome. Not sure what you heard, but the only one bad thread was a guy with an infinity and he was going on and on and it was clearly not the wheel issue.

That's great to know. Coworkers of mine have been telling horror stories about Vossens, ie. they crack in cold climates, bent wheels, etc. Good to know that there are many good experiences with Vossens from many.

Yes I was nervous getting 20s to be honest. Being Vossens was not a concern because I am in the industry and they have a stellar name. Everyone told me I was going to bend a wheel a month yada yada yada. I had bad experiences with 18s and almost backed out.. 1 year later, they are still round, no bends on the inner or outer (not from the lack of hitting pot holes, hit some I swore when I got out I was going to replace a wheel), and cracking when cold? LOL...no. I live in Minneapolis and just took them off last week because the snow was accumulating on the streets about 4-5 inches so it was time, but before that we had single digit temps for the last few weeks and light snow. So I would say cold weather was not a problem. I learned you have to take what people say with a grain of salt. Are their better wheels? Yes if you go forged, but then instead of paying 500 a wheel, you are paying 1200 or more a wheel. For a cast wheel design, I would put Vossen on top of all the others for both design like you said and quality AND service. Of course from time to time in manufacturing things can go wrong and undetected (I work for an electronics manufacturer as PD so very familiar with those issues), but the couple of guys that had issues, Vossen guys stepped up and did everything in their power to correct. Except one jerk that tried to blast them from an Infinity forum and after reading his issue it was not the rim, but he was too stupid to realize it. |
