Seriously... I Think Made A New Discovery...Part 2

now im not sure if this applies w/o CA but if you put your finger on the start button there is an inner ring between the black start button and chrom trim that glows. the glow goes from weak to strong depending how far your finger is from it. just use your index finger and tap it on and off and you'll see it. very neat.

if only i can get the 6 programable memory keys to go along with it

If I know what you're referring to, I thought I made the same discovery last week in my garage (it was very dark). What I noticed though, is that by putting your finger on the button, you're blocking the "Start/Stop" script which the light normally glows through. When you do this, the light around the outer edge of the button is magnified, because it's no longer glowing through the script, making the outer ring appear as if it's getting brighter. Try it. I actually wasted 5 minutes of my life experimenting with this because my initial belief was exactly the same as yours.

BMW nerds unite!!!! I concede that this is exactly the type of behavior that I engage in, in my own garage.

you know what's really cool?? I dont know whether it works on non-navs but if you run your finger(s) along the radio preset buttons (1-6), you'll notice that it will pop up on the nav screen also. Im not talking about pushing the buttons. All you have to do is just touch the button and then run your finger down the row and it will pop up. It's like that hand-motion thing BMW is planning on doing

Did anyone ever notice that when you're moving forward, your tires on the right side of the car move in a clockwise direction but the tires on the left side turn counterclockwise?

Seems to me that both actions cancel each other out and you shouldn't be going anywhere, or at least be going around in circles....

These BMW engineers must be pretty smart guys to have figured this all out!..

No wonder the wheels on Porsche's were always unidirectional. Because they couldnt figure out which side they rotate on...

Hey that just gave me an idea...the engineers should figure out a new unidirectional turn signal for people who don't know whether they should turn left or right but want to adhere to the traffic code that states you must use turn signals.....thanks Hyper!..

That's why on a Corvette there are 4 individual part numbers for each tire (LF,LR,LR,RR). Not only are they directional, they have a "side facing outside." Can't remember if that's the case with our RE050A's--I'm going to guess the side facing outside but not directional? So they could be left or right. Just a guess I've not shopped for new tires yet.

This kind of business made for complications when I went to exchange tires/rims I had ordered online, the tires were directional and the rims had different offsets. Added up to having a local shop dismount/mount and the online retailer reimbursing, problem is the local shop doesn't have a Roadforce machine nor are they careful in not scratching a never used rim.

That's so true--I've owned my car nearly 11 mos. and it's only seen rain twice. Those two times were unexpected downpours--lucky I was able to pull over immediately and get the car covered. Since I live in Seattle, that explains my having only 840 mi. on the odometer. (j/k about Seattle and the mileage and the car cover, but not the 2X in rain)
