Need new strut

Have a blown out front driver shock absorber and will definitely replace both fronts. Since I'm doing this, thought I might as well drop the car with lowering springs. Q: Will the OE strut works when replacing a lowering springs? This car is my daily commute and would "somehow" stick to how the ride is (slightly stiffer ride than OE will be OK). Thought I could get input in this thread before I get started.
Ride: 2009 BMW 328i sedan (base model)

Looking forward.
Thanks

I run OE struts on my DD with H&R Sport Springs and they've been fine. I did have an issue at first with rubbing, but the guys at Turner went back in, tweaked the bump stops, and I've been cruising like it's on stock suspension ever since. Been 9 months now.

I'm going with H&R sport springs. What wheel size you're running?...Hope I won't have a rubbing issue with my 18's.

I run staggered 19's in the summer(8.5F, 9.5R). Offsets are 35F, 32R(35mm w/3mm spacer). 17's during Winter.

Truth be told, I don't know exactly how they modified the stops. I'm almost thinking they got larger ones? By height I mean. Not sure man.

I just did a full suspension refresh on my car with Eibach Prokits. The drop isn't as aggressive as H&R but I did go with shorter bump stops after doing much research. I did Z4 35is bump stops in the front (Pt#: 31332225377) and E46 M3 bump stops in the rear (Pt# 33536770350). So far everything has worked flawlessly!

See my garage for the wheel details. I can't post pictures of the drop but it is very close to stock.
