Best look and best price for lowering E-93

I finally moved out of my condo that was rid of speedbumps, so now I can actually lower my car. I was looking for a nice stance, so was thinking about some spacers (maybe) and springs. The back of the car looks pretty low as is since I have 19's on it, but the front has about a 2 finger gap. What do you guys recommend for a great look? thanks in advance. If you have pics, that would be even greater!

lowering it will ruin the geometry of your suspension and will compromise its handling characteristics. do you really want to subject your ultimate driving machine to that??

some truth to that comment, I haven't lowered but have considered it. if you drop more than an inch you may need to budget more $$$ for front swaybar links and adjustable rear toe links.....then the ride quality issue. Should I decide to drop, it will only be a half inch or so.

And inch sounds good. But which springs to get? on previous cars ive seen where they drop the rear more than the front and it looks terrible in my opinion.

Additionally, no spacers?

Spacers after drop the car measure your wheel gap. Then decide on spacers gap.

I'm dropped on H&R Sport Springs. If you end up getting them, make sure you get the right part number, NOT for the E90, E92 or the E91. For the E93: Part# 50490-5

Sorry about the iPhone pic.

SirHoward, thanks for the pic! By any chance- could you get a close up of the wheel gap? especially the front.
And how is the ride? stiffer, rubs a bunch more in the back or when you turn the wheel in the front?

thanks

Do you even have a suspension or does your car just sit on the ground

No rubbing at all in the Front or Rear with the 17's or the 20's wheels. Pic-1 Front & Pic-2 Rear. (again iPhone pix, sorry)

Most high performance suspension mods lower the vehicle 1/2" - 3/4" from Sport suspension height. Don't go lower unless cosmetics are your thing and you don't mind compromising engineering for how you look to others, a thing from the feminine being within.

ST coilovers are best price. You can basically get the same look from any coilovers. ST is part of KW and if you've ever seen the KW v1's side by side with the ST v1's you will notice the only difference is their color. The only difference is ST is made with galvanized steel vs KW's stainless steel. What's the difference? Salt corrosion. If you live close to the ocean or where it snows, I would advice getting KW as the stainless steel is unaffected by salt. The galvanized steel will corrode over some time depending on salt levels. I picked mine up (ST) for $950 shipped vs KW priced at around 13-1400.

i had a e46 with HR only in the front and i loved the look ride...i may do that with the cabrio as the rear already looks so low..i will have to wait till i get the rims on.
i have read some say eibach have a better ride..so i will look into that to i guess. always too many options

^^^this. I couldnt have said it much better. youre gonna have to pay the installation fee twice once you realize it isnt what you want and your shock mess up. mine were out on stock springs around 80k mi. so I did the replacement. well worth it i got it for about 1300.

ya ya..yr all right

i will have to keep it stock height i guess, till i get more cash. the car has 105KM so the shocks would def have wear.

i was looking at the BC BR for basically 1k

any thoughts?

I heard good things about BC. In fact I read another thread comparing ST and BC and BC got more votes. I did not know they were so cheap. Might have gotten BC instead had I known earlier.

just ordered a set of ST..seems to have a great warranty, as was cheaper than all the others.
pm Tiago@VRSFfrom vendor here.

The galvanized steel is incredibly unlikely to rust which is why they offer the 5 year warranty and I've yet to see one of these come back due to rusting
