Variable sport steering and M brakes...worth it??

Now that the order guide for the 2 series has come (for Canada) I'm debating one of the options.

I'll be getting the 228i 6MT w/ M sport line/package, sunroof in Estoril blue

The only other option I'm debating is the M performance package, which includes the M brakes, Variable sport steering and M spoiler for $1500...is this worth getting?

This is my 1st bmw so I'm not exactly sure if it will make a difference in everyday driving.

TIA!

From a 228, I would think so. You are getting a completely different brake kit, that alone is probably worth the price (BMW performance brakes are like 2k). Also, based on what I have seen on the F30 forums, the variable sport steering gives it much better steering feel. Probably the reason why it is standard on the M235i

Edit: If i were you, maybe go to dealership and drive back to back a 3 or 4 series with VSS and not. Let us know :P

Those are not M "Performance" brakes are M Sport brakes.... (the blue brakes)

M Performance brakes are only available as retrofit and are (red orange or yellow)

M-Sport brakes with blue calipers are IDENTICAL to the M-Performance brakes offered everywhere, same size discs, same calipers etc. Only difference is that the M-Performance ones have slotted discs

(I got this from F30 post)

Also, FYI be weary of pricing

228i
36,000
1,500 (leather)
2,000 M Sport
1,500 M Performance
850 adaptive M

~42k and I think the M235i has some other things as STD

Edit: I could be wrong. Got this from another post, I am sure it applies

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=770182

328i M sport brakes - front: 13.4" / rear: 13.6" = 340mm/345mm
335i M sport brakes - front: 14.6" front / rear: 13.6" rear = 370mm/345mm

M performance kit (all f30) -
•Front rotor size: 370mm x 30mm
•Rear rotor size*: 345mm x 24mm

Not in the 328... the rotor size in the 328 is smaller...

Not sure what the rotor size for the 228 will be... but you might get bigger rotor in the 228 if you get the upgrade

Thanks guys...sounds like both the variable sport steering and the M sport brakes are well worth it.
