19" Black OZ Ultraleggera on 335i Sedan

Since nobody else seemed to have these rims in black, and they are super light weight, I decided to get them and see for myself.

I wasn't sure how it would affect my car as I switched from 225/255 staggered to these new ones which are 235 all around. It turned out pretty well. I have pirelli pzero NON-runflats on and I immediately noticed a change in overall ride comfort, especially on bumps. They do seem a little less stable though at very high speeds but thats possibly due to the fact that I hadn't gone fast for a while with my old wheels, or maybe I need to get them rotated. The pirelli's seem to be stickier than my old tires(stock runflats) which is possibly because they are new and my old ones are almost 6 months old. I feel alive again in turns because I have yet to get them to come loose, especially when they are warmed up. Also, because the rims are lighter I have felt a small, but noticeable, positive change in acceleration and braking.

Original weight of my front wheel: 52.9

New Wheels: 42.4

Thats 10 lbs each on the front wheels + more on the back as they bigger.

And now for some pics, sorry for the quality. I took the pics in the early morning on an overcast day so they don't really show the wheels off but they do look very nice. I mostly chose the rims for their price(~400) and for their weight(~20 lbs) and they are perfect in both ways for me. If you are only looking for looks then I wouldn't recommend these rims as they are kinda dull. They might look better on a black car or with a brembo brake kit, but they are not all special and flashy by themselves.

Edit: Some more pics:

Some guy with the same car as me lol. I think mine looks better. On the left in the first, on the right in the 2nd.

A full car pic for the guy who asked(and I know a did a crappy job parking):

And two more random ones:

Taken with my iPhone so don't mind the quality.

Anyone out there know if staggered 18" are available yet? I knew there was an issue with clearence with the rears so Tirerack stopped selling the wider rears. I really love these wheels, but I wanted staggered.
Tirerack - are you reading?

T2X - MORE PICS PLEASE!!! I'm getting the same color wagon soon and want to see the entire car.

Car looks great TTurbo! I had thought about getting those rims a long time ago but wasn't sure how they'd look. they look really good. Seems like the offset matches well too, they fill out the fender well.
I like the dull finish too, that would look good on my jet black car.

I think that tirerack has the staggered ones but they were sold out until like mid November and I didn't want to wait.

The car actually feels like it handles better. It seems as if the car can wrap around the road better. It's possible that my old tires were to blame but they were only 6 months old with plenty of tread. I don't know if its the lighter wheels, the larger diameter, or the change to NON-RFT Pirelli P-Zeros, but either one or all of those changes have made the car feel more secure.

Btw, I added some more pics, and TTurboBullett, why does your car have to look so much cooler than mine? (rhetorical question)

What width are your OZ's, 8 or 9 inches, and what are your tire sizes??
I am considering the Superlegerra's for track days in 18",
and I am wondering if it is better to

A. go staggered setup - F 8" 225/40-18, R 9" 255/35-18
or (car was engineered for this setup)

B. go square F/R 9" 245/40-18 (reduce understeer, easily rotate tires as well.
Do you know if the 9"er's will fit on the front??
(I have a coupe)

Thanks in advance!
Chris

I'm running 8" front, 9" rear, and I will be running 235/40 & 265/35 by next week, currently on stock RFTs. I think it'll be a tall order for the 9" back to fit the front, but I'm no expert, you should contact Gary @ Tire Rack in regards to these wheels, I emailed him about the tires, and he suggested those sizes to me.

sweet looking wheels!

BTW, taking pics on overcast day is the better then on scorching sunny one. Colors come off better.

Funny, i alwasy felt black rims look best on blue, white, and red cars, and here you got same colored beemers with thoese black ultras. All look super!
