Do you really need new spring clips when changing pads?

I was looking up the part numbers, and came across the kits, and it says that ideally for cars over 4 years old, you should replace the spring clip too? Part #'s 3 and 4.

You guys think it's needed?

I was going to buy the parts and give them to my mechanic, and didn't know if I should get them too or not. I just had my 335's rotors and pads switched, and didn't provide new clips, and they didn't say anything...

No not necessary when doing pads, ive had the same clips since initial ownership. Now if you change to a different caliber then yes

Nô. Replace only if it rattles.
