M performance LSD with or without?

so.. how much difference will one notice? for normal driving and some joy driving (no track days for me, i think)

also what kind of diff would be there if this retro M diff is not selected?
VLSD? open diff??
I am still learning BMW so....

Well if you plan on taking it to the track or do spirited driving on public roads, especially around the corners, then you're going to want to invest in a Limited-Slip

For me, it's a no brainer. I drive my 135i daily and I can tell it needs an Limited-Slip

question - is the LSD needed to keep traction if you tune the car? I know many people suffered wheel spin on modded 135i's. Will the LSD help with this at all?

The LSD will allow you to put down more torque down without spinning the tires under certain circumstances.

If you tune your car and add more power then it will be easier to spin the tires so you might see a bigger benefit with the LSD

Even at $4,000, it'll still be worth it. For me at least.

I would just have to bite the bullet and move on haha

Fwiw, I'm pretty sure for every 3 M Performance parts you buy at the time of purchase, you get a subsidize pricing at 40% off and can be rolled into your lease or loan.

powerful BMW(or any powerful sporty car) is 'worthless' without a proper lsd, imo.

Yep test drove a 135i a year ago and I felt it was a bit "heavy" cornering, an LSD will fix that then I'll probably get suspension down the line

Exactly. Plus you can feel the one wheel spin when coming out of the corners.

Definitely not fun, the car feels like it's being held back from doing what it's suppose to do.

it should help some... so that torque of the wheel with less traction gets transfer to the one with more traction.....

No if both wheels have little traction it will be pretty much the same

Actually this is yet to be determined. From what it sounds like, it may be offered as a factory option.

I'm really hoping for this, otherwise it will be a port install or dealer install if you decide to get it after purchase

If you have proper snow tires then yes, it should actually help it a little.

Usually you can choose VPC or dealer....

VPC they keep the old parts but you don't pay labor
Dealer you keep the parts but pay labor...

If you do ED you wont get the LSD till it gets to VPC or your delaer...
for PCD if you do VPC you will get it with the LSD at the PCD... or you will have to do the install later at the dealer

Factory option won't be an "option"
