Velgen bronze yay or nay?

I went through a nasty pot pole today and ended up tearing some of the rubber and scratched my front passenger side wheel. I also have few nicks on two other wheels, so thought about power coating them down the road.
I currently own Velgen wheels in matte gun metal, so I probably won't do same color.

Here is a quick reference:
http://velgenwheels.com/project/infi...-20x9-20x10-5/

I personally think bronze is more eye catching and has better flow on white color car.

What you guys think?
Too much of JDM?

I can't decide what color I want to power coat them to.

I think it could look good if it's the right color bronze (..not the bronze that you linked on the Velgen wheels). Volk bronze is nice and would look much better. I had Volks on my Civics back in the day.

I agree Rays bronze would look really good, especially on white.

Hard to tell from the pics but it seems that the bronze on the Velgen is not as nice as the one applied on Volk wheels, but, again, perhaps due to lightning and such

Bronze would look good on cars with: jet black, white, blue, red, not sure on the graphite gray tho...

Basically the Velgen bronze is brighter and more 'gold'. The Rays bronze is deeper and a darker hue

I used to own TE37 gold on TSX... I actually thought about gold for sec but bit JDM ish, so I decided not to go with gold color.

Is there a way to get color code for Volk bronze?

Back when I powder coated wheels often, it was about $50-60 a wheel. I haven't PC'd wheels in so long that I'm out of the loop. You can Google the color code for Volk Bronze, but shops generally won't have a reference like that unless they do a lot of wheels for the JDM crowd. They usually just have a huge key ring of PC color swatches.

Aww man, sorry to hear about your wheels.

Honestly, I wouldn't do bronze. It might look really great for a while, but I think it'll get old. What about semi-gloss black? The Velgens would looks sick in this color.

I would say yay for bronze on white with one condition: no more chrome anywhere else on the car (grill, badges, trim...).

Shit happens (hopefully not too often).
I am not a big fan of black wheels.

I got the M performance grill and all trims are in black, except the rear badge (I probably keep it as is.)

Yeah black is usually a love it or hate it thing. What about brushed? Brushed is actually my favorite finish. The Velgens would look sick brushed!

HRE wheel that has a similar look to the Velgen in brushed.

Brushed is hard to replicate when refinishing, IIRC.

That Volk bronze you can probably get Auto Explosion in Gardena to do. They should have the paint code.

There is one place that does a great job but it's kinda pricey. About $150 a wheel but it's hand brushed. I believe they are then powder coated clear. I'd be a one of a kind set of Velgens for sure.

I like the darker brushed wheels (..similar to some of the colors that MORR makes). That tint is fucking sexy...

Damn that is hot! At SEMA, I've seen tinted brushed in person and it was just beautiful.

Do you have any connection with those guys? I highly doubt that they will just give out info on Volk bronze.

$150 for hand brushed isn't bad.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I am leaning towards brushed finish.

Sedan_Clan, I agree with you! I was just browsing through F10 section, and I see few rides with darker brushed finish vs. plain brushed finish, I personally prefer darker version as well.
