FMIC w/ DCI
I researched, and was not able to find info on this topic.
I have a ETS 5" FMIC, and I want to add a DCI, has anyone noticed any power gains with this setup, and more important better air flow resulting in lower run temps? I am still not certain if I will tune the car, but I do want to run a few track days, and get the best air flow possible. From researching previously, many have said no significant power gains are added with DCI which makes sense. I am more concerned about not over-heating at the track. |

If you're not tuned, DCI isn't going to do much of anything, performance or extra cooling. One could argue a BMS setup actually being heat soaked and what not...
If you're worried about overheating at the track, make sure you have at least the factory oil cooler. Get an upgraded one if you desire better than factory performance(I believe Dinan has one). Cooler air with an upgrade intercooler is a good start. After that, it's other fluids such as your brakes / clutch / diff / tranny /etc. |

The FMIC helps you keep the power you have when the ambient air temp goes up. Don't think you are going to gain with one but you will lose power without one.
DCI is a toss-up but a lot like the sound.

a DCI is helpful when you are running high boost. IT makes easier for the turbos to suck air in. I don;t see any benefit beyond that. if you're running stage 1 level tune, a drop in is good enough.
AFE closed box intakes are better (for a price). They will allow the turbos to suck air in easier. At the same time, they will still isolate the DCIs from the engine's heat. |

You can always go with the evolution racewerks competition oil cooler. It's better than the dinan one. http://www.**********s.com/Evolution...-135i-335i.htm
Just go ther and select the competition one. Dual oil cooler. I love mine |
