M3 Driving Modes

Read an article recently that the M3 would have three driving modes, much like the current F30 does. The article stated they would be Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. However I couldn't find anywhere what the default mode would be.

Does anyone have an idea or heard/read something that clarified this? It'd be great if the default was Sport, and Comfort essentially acted as the Eco Pro mode for the m3.

If it's like the previous gen (very likely), you set up your defaults and M-mode settings in I-drive. There is a lot of setting up to be done before you can fully appreciate what the E9x M3 can do.

+1 Takes a while to find the combination of suspension, throttle and steering settings that you like for daily driving, then which ones you want when you push the M button

in f30 default mode is comfort and it doesn't remember the mode you left it in when you shut it off, so you always start in comfort

Yeah it is annoying, but just becomes part of the pre-drive routine. Fasten seatbelt, plug in iPhone, select the device on I Drive, find a good song, start car, release handbrake, unfold mirrors, switch to Sport +, put car in drive, accelerate into the abyss.

I'm hoping it is key dependent/iDrive dependent like the E9X M3. If not, ah well. Not a deal breaker like phishhead24 said.

Quite an epiphany.

My point was between key memory settings and iDrive settings, I could get into my M3, start it up, and be in Sport+/Power/etc. each and every time without touching a thing. The F30's should have provided those same customizable attributes, and I wager that the F8X will.

I drive mdm on with comfort throttle comfort dampers.

At the track its mdm with comfort throttle with sport (2 lights on) damper settings.

I will switch the dsc off when i actually attend a track day where i feel all drivers are safe in my run group

Edit: and NO walls

Hahah! Thinking about the other drivers eh? Good on you. I felt the same way with bikes. I'd leave my TC on so that myself and Mr.HighSide didn't become acquainted. Me and Mr.LowSide are fairly good friends though. LOL! Nowadays I rarely go down and I'm a demon on the brakes. I can't pop a wheelie, but I can indo my bike on the brakes and lean that bitch over and blow kisses at the pavement. Damn I love tracking/racing!

I hope so, plus more individualized settings with servotronic for regular driving (not using the M button)
