Out of curiosity who hasn't registered their new battery

And what were the long term effects? I've done the registration thing but would like to see who hasn't.

I would assume it wouldn't be good for a new battery if the car thinks it's an old battery and is adjusting voltage/charging for it.

It's also "their" not "there"

My battery does not require to be registered as I have LED acid Exide, unlinke AGM batteries which they do.

If you purchased the same model battery, you should be resetting the adaptation values. If you don't reset the values, your car will charge the battery at the voltage of the old battery and could shorten the life of your new battery. If you have a Bavarian Technic Tool, you can easy reset the adaptations.

If you purchased any battery different than your stock one, it needs to be registered. If you do a search for that, you'll see some horror stories of people replacing their batteries only to fry the internal electronics with the different voltage levels.

Question Battery registration/limp home light at track?

I installed an "exact replica" battery (bought from my son-in-law's parts store) in my '07 E92. I run car mostly at HPDE events.

Could the battery be the 5th source of the "limp home" problems ? I have an AfE tuner and dual-cone air cleaners on car.

I'd like to know what this "charging profile" that's supposed to be reset is. Before my battery packed up, running battery voltage was around 14V. After replacing the battery, and registering it, it still runs at 14V, just like every other car without "charging profiles" I've ever have, have. My last Peugeot battery was still going strong after 10 years, the BM battery packed up after six.

I just replaced the battery on my M3 with an OEM one. I am still getting the "Increased battery discharge warning" .... I guess I will have to find someone that can help me register the damn thing.
