Lighting package retrofit

Hi Guys,

Need your input on something, I have a friend who is offering a lease take over on his 2012 3.20i. This will be a second vehicle for me as my first one is a Honda Odyssey (for my mobile detailing business). The monthly payments are right, the colour is right (black) and the overall condition is right. The one thing he did not go with which I would have loved is the lighting package. I think no HIDs on BMW is a sandwich without the bread, there's no point. Case in point, I'd like to get this done, can it be done economically from a dealership or is there no chance.

From what I know it's very expensive and fairly complicated to get it done right! But I totally agree...love them!

i have heard they are really expensive. CHECK before you take over the lease, if you fail to get it done you will regret taking over the lease for the rest of your life.

You just have to weigh how much you want to invest in a leased car, especially if you are going to turn it in 2-3 years. If you are going to buy it out at the end, then it's a no brainer. I haven't looked at the F30 vendor forums that much, but I know on the E90 there are retrofit kits for days! Whatever you do with the lights has to be coded or wired so you don't get a canbus error. Its not just a simple swap.
