Why won't the m3 splitters fit on the rep m3 bumper?

Has anyone tried to modify the carbon fiber e90 m3 splitters to fit the e90 m3 rep bumper? Would this be plausible; if not why, what are the fitment differences?

+1. The rep is meant to fit with your oem fender lines, which are significantly more narrow than the oem M3 fenders meant for the splitters.

So it's wider right? I wonder by how much? If it's a pretty small difference it seems like it would still fit okay, it just would have a little gap.

Pretty sure their is a thread around here were someone tried but they didn't fit whatsoever. Really wish a vendor could make these, I hate all the current options for the m3 rep.

Guy in Singapore had pics up. But it didn't look good, they had to cut to fit and it wasn't that clean.

Cut to fit, so they are actually too long for the rep bumper ?

Yeah, real bumper is wider so the splitters are wider where they meet the bottom. He cut them or something and it looked a bit ragged. I researched this because I wanted those splitter for my my rep.

Oh I see that makes sense. If the length is the only fitment issue, it seems like it could definitely be modified to work. Do you have a link to the thread?

There is no way it will look clean. I made the mistake of buying them and they were not long or wide enough.

From those pics it doesn't look that bad at all, in fact, it looks good to me. Do you have anymore pics? I would really like to see them.

I don't have anymore pics. This was after countless hours of shaving of pieces of the CF. Also the edges that wrap around the side of the bumper would come of because they were to long. The tape would come up after 3-4 days and the edges would come back out.
