Ok i went a little cheaper on this one. I dont have the money to drop 1000$ so i bought this

Says 100% carbon fiber, thoughts anyone? :O

Description says that it's a carbon fiber vinyl overlay (like a sticker) that you have to apply over your oem trim. Would have been a bunch cheaper to just buy a sheet of vinyl and cut it yourself though. It will look good if done correctly, vinyl can be a bitch to work with.

It says non iDrive but the picture shows a hole for the iDrive buttons? I'd make sure they send you the right thing.

I realized right after i ordered this, that i ordered the one for the e90, and i dont think its compatible. So i asked them to refund! Hopefully they arent a pain about it :/

probably stock photos. some vendors repost the same ads/photos for similar products, but just change the description depending on application.

those are actual real carbon fiber overlays... so while they are actual cf pieces, they are not replacement pieces. they just stick on top of the oem trim...

the good: it looks and feels and is actual real carbon fiber. much better than fake cf vinyl.

the bad: it's an overlay so it wont be as flat/flush as the oem trim since it's "stuck on" top of the oem trim... this could make it look cheap and bootleg since the fitment might not be perfect...

Those are NOT vinyl stickers.

They are thin carbon fiber overlays that are molded to fit over your existing trim & attach with 3M double sided tape - just like the CF mirror covers that are sold.

They will come as thin molded pcs. made from CF, with a clear coat, & 3M tape on backside - just peel off the 3M tape liner and attach over your existing trim.

Not as good as the OEM BMW CF parts that are actually factory trim bases wrapped with CF & cleared - but next best thing if the pieces have good fitment (and a hell of a lot cheaper).

I had pieces such as this on my door handle escutcheons, window switch faces, radio, climate control, cup holder surround trim, overhead consoles, around light switch & key fob. - but since have removed them & had the actual OEM parts wrapped in CF/cleared instead.

I did not get mine from your link, but mine had very good fitment, with no exposed surfaces showing from underneath, and had a 2x2 twill weave. They were installed for 3yrs with no problems.

No way they would charge you $385 for vinyl stickers

looks good, for the same price i got my interior trim wrapped in the vinyl. good luck!

plus if it is the right covers, you wouldn't have to worry about it getting damaged as easily as the regular vinyl since it has that clear overlay.

I tried these one time. They fit okay, but there are pretty noticeable gaps (especially around the center console. It stood out more to me because I have aluminum trim, but I imagine it'll be okay if you have gloss black or another dark trim underneath. Just my experience. Hope it works out well for you.

Could have bought my ACTUAL carbon fiber replacement E90 pieces for $400 instead of overlays!

I'm like everyone else here, I'm worried about the overlay, I'd rather have a direct replacement then 2 way taping it over OEM, but if your happy then go for it. Who knows it may turn out great!

Obviously this is an opinion, but real carbon looks much better. Has depth and reflection that vinyl can't replicate.

There's an obvious difference. We may not agree on which one looks better (matter of opinion), but only one looks real.
