plasti-dip: Cheaper than Paint?
I've never hear much about plasti-dip until I started reading these threads. I have a few questions:
1. Is it cheaper than paining? 2. Can it be removed? 3. Can I plasti-dip something in various colors? 4. does plasti-dip come in various textures (gloss or matt) ? Thank you Will |

1. Yes much cheaper than paint. You can get a can of dip at any hardware store for about $6. For a bigger project you can buy a pre mix that just needs paint thinner. I used about 3.5 cans of dip for my rims and got about 6 coats of dip on each rim.
2. It is 100% removable. The more coats you apply to a surface the easier it is to remove. I did my m400 rims and it took about 15 minutes for each rim to peel off the dip. Some areas got less dip than other and didn't peel off clean, I took a micro fiber cloth to it and was able to rub it off. 3. You can layer colors like you would with any other paint. Check out "Dip Your Car" on youtube and you will learn a lot. 4. Most dip is a matte finish, but performix makes a clear gloss which can be used as a finishing coat to give it some shine. Quote:

Good Monring, This is great info. Thank you very much. I like the idea that I can change it up once in a while without a perminate change. Thank you again for all the good info.... Regards, Will |
