viewing turn by turn instructions on nav?

How do I pull up turn by turn instructions on the nav? i was unsuccessful locating the option

Can you explain what you mean? Do you mean actual text instructions like you would see on Google Maps, for example?

It's called "Route information". Assuming the moving map is showing, press the NAV button. That will bring up the navi menu list. Select Route information at the bottom and click. You can also get to this menu by clicking the iDrive controller to the left twice (again, assuming you are on the map screen). You can also program one of the buttons to this function.

I find the Route information screen very useful as:

1. It shows the distance to the next turn and counts the distance down as you travel to it.
2. It show exactly where there is traffic along your route.

thank you frogman, i will try this out later this week when i get back to my car. I knew 1 left click will bring up "enter destination"....i didnt know i can left click one more time for more options.

I set this as one of my presets it's so helpful. Number 7 in case anybody cares

If you have the HUD it's already there (assuming you set all info to show on the HUD) it's great!

HUD will show you what the next instruction is.

my request was to see ALL the instructions.
