Question Delay on European Delivery

Hi all,
I have ED delivery for a 08 e92 335 scheduled for November 22.
Originally my dealer told me that I should be ready to pay the car in full at least 1 month prior to the scheduled delivery date.
I just received another call now claiming that BMW has changed the rules and payment should only be made 2 weeks prior to delivery (his rationale was that BMW wanted to avoid building cars too soon to avoid potential damages).
This doesn't seem right. Do I run the risk of getting delivery later than the scheduled date ?

I dont think the 2 have anything to do with each other.

You should be happy, you get to hold on too your money 2 weeks longer

there's nothing to worry about. They've streamlined their production line so cars are only made 2 weeks prior to delivery date.

Check again. My delivery date is 11/14. Production is scheduled for Week 45, just the week before. CA tells me payment is now due 7 days before delivery. These shorter times make me quite happy.

With the opening of the Welt and the improved build process at the factory. Cars can be made the week before your ED date. Think of it as less opportunity for bad things to happen to your car sitting somewhere.

+1
My car was produced this week (Friday to Friday, finished 10/19). And I paid for it this week as well. The reason why you cannot pay for it a month before hand is because there's no VIN assigned to the car at that point. Because they're being produced closer to ED pick up date, there's no VIN until 2 to 3 weeks before hand. Once there's a VIN you can technically buy the car, but not until then.

There's nothing like a fresh-baked car.
