Tire and Wheel protection

I would be interested to know what other people thought would be a reasonable price to pay for tire and wheel protection. I plan to do a 3-year lease on the 50i that I have ordered (And of course, still haven't received despite it being done and at vpc since September 24. Another thread for another time…). This new car will have 20 inch run flats. I previously had a tire and wheel protection plan on my old 2008 x5 with 20 inch run flats. My 5 year price on that was $799. It is my understanding that the prices are way higher these days. But, I also know that there is a lot of dealer markup. I was definitely the winner on the previous plan. I had several nails and various road debris that killed several tires. I know the run flats are expensive, but I actually think they saved my life on one particular incident. Therefore, I'm sticking with them. Any thoughts on what is a reasonable price to pay or to try to negotiate for a 3 year plan?

The best i got on a three year plan was $1480 thought that was expensive but my mind is at ease for three years.

It seems you were close to cost (from what I gather) on your 2008. But the price that zazax5 is mentioning is about what I paid on my wife's 135i. We got a great deal on the car, but they would not budge on the Tire & Wheel package. Still have not taken advantage of it, so it's about that time

Probably different in UK but I negotiated my dealer down to £20/month for 12 months and tyres are covered for two years.

My CA told me the 3yr tire and wheel protection cost is now $1800. The tire and wheel protection are now being offered by BMW only , my current tire and wheel protection are not from BMW and from some other company. For my 2014 X5 lease my CA will throw in the tire and wheel protection at no extra cost.

I was also quoted around $1800 for the tire and wheel package by the F&I guy at my BMW dealership when I paid for my X5. I'm not sure, but it may have included painless dent repair. I declined.

There was a mistake from my CA, he's not throwing in the tires & wheel protection, he's charging me $1200 for 3 years.
