Tried doing rear fog light mod...Switch is missing parts

Went to do the rear fog lights mod and this happens. Anyone else run into this problem too? Just opened the switch up and its missing the white part that presses on the circuit board.

Anyone know if I can purchase that separately?

For reference

Lol didn't bother looking up the DIY first huh? It's like the top 5 most read topic or something.

Anyway I used my son's Lego pieces to make it similar size of that white part.

The DIY I read didnt mention anything about possible missing pieces.

Anyways, I did some searching after posting and found my answer.

It isn't "missing." Our U.S. cars simply do not come with it... I'm pretty sure all the DIYs say you have to fabricate some sort of part

Thats the one I used.

I ended up using a christmas tree retainer from an old car and cutting up a piece of an O'Reilly's Rewards card to press on the board.

I can say from experience that mine came with the white piece installed from the factory so no all US cars are delivered without one.

Only 2010's and up had the 2 white pieces put in the switch. For the rest you have to use a lego piece.

Not pulling it back out to get pictures, but ill explain what I did.

Found one of those in my tool chest that happened to fit nicely in the button cavity and stay pretty secure in it. Trimmed the circular part on the lower piece to allow it to move back and fourth in the switch housing. I raised the middle piece that is removable to the same height at as the OEM white piece and super glued it at that height. Then I trimmed a rewards card (same as credit card material) to the same size as the face of the white piece that presses on the board. Super glued that to the retainer and reassembled the switch. Works great.
