E92 pre LCI mtech rear bumper question
Hi
Long time lurker. Thanks for all the support you have unknowingly provided me. My Montego Blue pre LCI got tapped the other day, I talked his insurance adjuster into writing me for a msport package in the quote. They'll be mailing me a check. I want to go m-tech. Looks like pre-LCI OEM is tough to find. It seems like JGMods has one for ~520. Being Montego, I'm afraid about match, so I'll have it painted locally. Ive searched a bunch and have found a lot, but a lot is from 2011. So I was wondering 10/13 what the market for pre LCI E92 mtech bumpers is. 1. Is JG the best product/price? 2. From what I can tell the preLCI/LCI is the same Mtech bumper 3. anything else for install (no park) 4. should I leave the insert unpainted? 5. anything else would be appreciated |

How is an OEM bumper hard to find? They just order it from BMW...
EDIT: oops missed the part about how they're just cutting you a check. In that case you can still order from BMW depending on how much they give you and how much you actually want to spend. Or look for a used one.

They are all over the place, right now you can get 495.00 shipped for JGmods because of a sale going on, granted that's a rep. My car was just recently in a little fender bender and i talked the adjuster into writing me for a msport bumper as well. They put in $760 just for the rear bumper, i picked up a used OEM on eBay for less then half the asking price of JGmods and that was shipped.
Just need to be savvy with searching if you will be able to find some great deals. 1. As for a rep that comes with everything right now yes. 2. Yes 3. If you order for JG should comes with everything to install, more than likely the body shop will be doing this for you though. 4. That's a personal preference 5. I would buy the bumper as cheap as you can find it, use the left over for whatever other parts you want i used mine for a Dukes Dynamic Quad Diffuser. Have the parts shipped to the body shop let them deal with install.

Even though the adjuster wrote down M-sport, the check came today and they wrote for a non-M (wonder if they ran the VIN) or just messed up. Got $925, with $495 'allocated' for the bumper. I'll swing on over to JGMods. Thanks.

If it was me, I wouldn't spend $500 on a rep when I can just get an OEM new for $635 from Tischer with perfect fitment and it is the kit so it comes with all the stuff that the rep will be missing, the lower guides, center cover etc.
Good quality reps are ok if they are half the price, but when it is almost the same price, why even take a chance on it.

For 750 mod bargins has front and rear on sale right now, I would just do that and work a deal for install and paint or just paint and install both yourself it's pretty easy.
