Question Roll Call: Anyone Interested in an Airfield Run in Michigan?

I will be renting an airfield next spring to run my car against other cars. The airfield is in Oscada Michigan.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?sourceid=...=1&sa=N&tab=wl

I will likely be running my M6 against other cars but I wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in running their E92 M3s, V2 335i, JB 335i, RS4s....

There has been lots of smack talk between the 335i crowd and the E92 M3 crowd.....this event will resolve things.

The airfield costs $1000 / day to rent with available EMS service. If the interest is high, I will rent the car for 2 days......

Who is in?

great idea!.. but if you'd pick a closer airfield to chicago or at least southern michigan or indiana i think you'd see a larger interest.

Try re-posting in other, 'nearby' regional forums. Too bad it was moved to a regional forum.

Too far from Nashville (with a newborn here), but awesome idea!

If I was a bachelor in NYC I'd make the drive!

If I am driving from Toronto, you guys can drive from Chicago!

My girlfriend will drive my 335xi and I will drive the M6 up....

Great idea would love to join the fun but it's quite a hike for me and I'm sure my wife wouldn't be too keen <insert cracking whip sound> to the idea.

Downviews airport gave me a big FU..... We might be able to get the Detroit Airport.....

Maybe a 150 shot of nitrous will offset your dubs

I'm in if you can find something near metro detroit....

Try Macomb Bernz airport out in macomb twp. (about 23 miles north of downtown)

There are plenty of regional airports in the area.

I'm pretty sure nitrous use is covered by the BMW Ultimate Service warranty. So, don't worry...

T-Bone, I am totally in, but I don't have a modded 335i, and don't plan on modding the wife's unfortunately.

When were you thinking of doing this? Probably won't be many E90/E92 M3s in the wild until late April or so, I figure. Were you thinking early spring or late spring? Also, will this be drag runs only, or are you planning on setting up a track or slalom course or something?

Anyway, I'll happily make the trek up to Oscoda. I actually kind of like that you chose a remote location.

I will be calling the airfield manager next month so I am open wrt the timing. I am also giving Detroit airport a call too.

We can stay at the Casino instead of middle of nowhere in some scary motel.

Airfield run

I'd be in for this.

How long is the field? Could we do standing mile runs?

Open to All cars?
Thanks,
George

Sounds like fun. As you see by my handle, Long Drive is what I like to do! (Also applies to golf, however it get's iffy at times!) Will have the K&N in and Turbo Tuner installed by spring. My wife and I would be willing to do a weekender pretty much regardless of the distance. Where the hell is Oscada anyway??
