mod like the Alpina for the 328? want to get rid of the slopiness and hesitation.

Title says it all. Maybe someone has other suggestions I can try as well.

I have a 2009 SULEV 328 convertible. Since day 1 I have been unhappy with the low speed response of the engine and trans. There seems to be some sort of lag from the time I start pressing the pedal to the time the car actually takes off.

The engine doesn't seem to be missing, I've had BMW look at it on several occasions and of course no issue found.

Any ideas? I bought the car with 25,000 miles, it now has 57k and there has never been a change in this hesitation.

Thoughts?

AA or Eurocharged tune are your only options. That lag is common in stock 328s.

Barking at the wrong tree. Try throttle control.

I had this very same issue that drove me nut (although most of the time in DS/M mode) and PBX solved most of it.

AA tune my son. You have the 3 stage mani in it, and with this tune you will not be disappointed.

I dicked around for a while but eventually wound up taking that advice.. Going from a tuned and moded 328 E90 to a 335xi was like night and day.

+1 I spent a lot of time trying to figure out more power from my 06 325.

It's not that I want more power, I just am frustrated with the lag before the car moves from a start. I went with the NA engine because I figured it would be less upkeep as a daily driver (I roll about 25k miles per year)

Then your best option is AA tune.

It's not an N54/ N55- the Alpina TCU flash was made for the Alpina Bi-turbo originally, then "fixed" to work with our 335s.

What you're experiencing is throttle lag- AA tune is the way to go.
