It would be good if some Chinese company made it.... $99 is a deal. I paid $700 for the Evosport pulley in my M6....total rip off but hey, I have that monster to feed.

A water pump should not be the only device to make use of a pulley on this car. Also, these pulleys are made for turning the accessories slower - A/C, power steering, and alternator. Water pumps would be bad to turn slower.

Come on this is snobbery.... This is the reason why tuners gouge us for parts! A pulley is just a piece of milled aluminum, no different for BMWs than Ford or GM. The Ford / GM guys pay $100 for their pulleys because this the market price. I am sick of BS tuner companies exploiting BMW owners. Pulleys, Cams, Intakes for BMWs don't cost anymore to make than Japanese / American cars but because we "refuse" to use lower end parts, we take it up the Yazoo for parts.

Not all the time. Nissan Sentra Se-Rs needed oversize pulleys to slow the pump down at high rpm cuse it would cavitate, therefore stopping flow of coolant, which would cause the car to overhead. Slowing down the waterpump to a certain point is not always bad...it can take in more heat and do more work. Power steering you can always slow down without issues. A/C..well you cant do anything with that because of the clutch mechanism on the front. |

Pullies seem to always have a controversy attached to them anyway.
The obvious pro is making the engine more free to turn freeing more hp to the wheels. The con argument is that there could be some serious damage to whatever components that are being underdriven. For example, some pulley companies underdrive the crankshaft pulley which can make the crankshaft turn at a faster acceleration possibly creating damage. After all said, I've used them and I've had good results. I'll just figure that nobody has made them for the 335 yet for reliability reasons.

I think the benefit for the N54 motor will be limited. In addition to the electric water pump the other big drag accessories have clutches on them for WOT. These optimizations have led people to believe BMW understates the power for the N54.
