UR Downpipe Update after 2k Miles

I drive quite a bit since I work so far from home, and I also take my car to the strip every once and a while. In other words, I do a bunch of different driving and the UR downpipes have been absolutely perfect.

I've heard the worry that the welds are going to break, so I'm just updating you guys that everything is working as good as when I initially installed them.

I put my car on ramps today so I could put on some exhaust wrap around my X pipe and the high flow cats. I've been told that the "raspiness" or metallic sound could be vibrations coming from the actual X pipe and the cats and if I put some wrapping around it, then it would mufflle the actual unit making the sound go through the piping and mufflers. I figured that it couldn't hurt so I did it--and WOW!

Not only did I change the sound but I have now decreased the heat in my engine bay. Now, of course the sound didn't change dramaticaly like I threw an a set of resonators but the sound is just smoother now.

Here's some pics that I took when I was under there.

Yep. One thing I noticed in the past was that when I first started the car, I use to hear a tinny vibration in the exhaust. It sounded like it was coming from the front. Well, it was obviously coming from the metal cats.
Now, I haven't heard it yet.

We'll see how it goes in the future because I just put the wrap on today, but when I went for a drive it was awesome!

Did the catted UR downpipes give you a noticeable bump in power? Sorry if this had already been asked...

Awesome Craig.

Thermal warp actually works pretty good also.

It's high temp fiberglass/composite to withstand temps to 2000 degrees F.

No, I have the secondary cat delete, magnaflow X pipe instead of resonator, and magnaflow rear mufflers.

exhaust wrap definately works well for heat retention, dampens the sound well too. i have since removed the wrap as it deterates rapidly and also can act as a wick if oil was to get on it. the headers are now swainteched.
your DP wont get as hot as my headers so i really wouldnt wary about deteration.

Good stuff. The heating wraps are fine, they are designed for this type of stuff, there should be no worries. Thanks for the info Mr.5..

Awesome man! The cutouts should be super loud!!

Explain a little more about the oil though. Should I overload on the silicone spray?

I know that turbos muffle the sound, but I've heard of some wicked sound clips with mufflers. I could only imagine the sound with cut outs.
