We should have adopted some form of automated/toll booth free system years ago.

FFS Did we have to give the contract to Sanef, could we find a British firm to do it?
Everyone knows the French have a three hour lunch. God help anyone trying to pay between 12 and 2pm.

I like that they say it will allow for free flow traffic.

What are they going to do reduce the number of cars on the road and increase the speed limit in the tunnel?

TBH I think the current speed limit is plenty. The amount of numpties who don't drive through the tunnels correctly at the moment is worrying.

I agree. I just meant that they are going to have a serious problem creating free flow traffic as it is pretty rare on any part of the M25 let alone the tunnel/bridge regardless of the tolls.

Maybe they should ANPR and any car that gets flagged as no tax, insurance or whatever just direct it straight into the river and forget about it. Leaving the tunnel clear for the rest of us.

An 'off' ramp on the bridge would make for quite a spectacle, they could build a viewing platform and charge people to view the scrotes as they dived the Thames.

When the bridge was originally planned it was supposed to payback and then become free.

Thats now been paid back but conveniently forgotten as we continue to have to pay

Plus a big red button for people who are insured taxed etc to hit to blast those cars in to the Thames.

Yep, but now the council / government have become reliant on this revenue - it's absolute joke.... what are we paying for - it's been paid back!
