PROcede V2 wideband O2 and speed limiter support

Hi Shiv,

I don't want to behave impatient, my question is only related to planning.

- When do you plan to activate speed sensor functionality ? It can be used to defend the speed limiter as well. Can't we use the old green wire loom for speed limiter functionality ?

- When will you start to support a standard 0-5V wideband O2 sensor ? I did the wiring today from the engine compartment to the cabin. What a PITA. I guess you will fine adjust AFR using this sensor, dedicated to the PROcede. IMO makes sence with FMIC, DP's or both mods.

BTW, congratulations to V2 !

Thank you for feedback.

Cheers
Eugen

PROcede V2, the 335i's speed limiter and me

Hi !

Now, nothing progresses until you do it and so I started my speed limiter journey today.

First I had a look at the V2.0.1 map to find any strings indicating that the PROcede uses code to deal with the road speed. I found such strings.

In Schneid's weapon thread you see a cross reference where to find the speed signal for this function. The RDsport blackbox uses this wire. I rechecked with the BMW WDS, and it looked good to me.

It is the white/green wire pin #17 on the grey subconnector of the smaller ECU connector. I intercepted it using my spare loom, the old green loom which will be replaced when you upgrade to V2.

Thus defending the speed limiter needs a digital I/O there is not much choice. Digital I/O number 4 is the only available digital channel.

- I extracted the white/green wire of pin #17 of the grey subconnector of the smaller ECU connector and connected it to pin #4 ( digital input #4 ) of the black PROcede connector.

- I connected pin #9 ( digital output #4 ) of the black PROcede connector to pin #17 of the grey subconnector of the smaller ECU connector.

Done.

So far the car behaves normal, no side effects. Also no additional functionality in the PROcede Reader software.

I have to test now if the speed limiter is really defended with this solution.

I think I have a fair chance .

If it works this will be applicable for PROcede V2 only !!!

Cheers
Eugen

Geez Eugen, you are a man of action. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes! I can't wait to hear about your test run. You are an inspiration to those of us who are to stupid or lack motivation to figure this crap out.

Drive safe

Eugen,

1. Sorry, but I'm a bit confused...does the PROcede already have this extra wire (pin #9 ( digital output #4 ) of the black PROcede connector) attached; I thought Shiv had mentioned that he forgot to send all of us initial V2 customers the extra wire???
2. Let us know if your solution works!

Thank you.

1. When you install PROcede V2 you have to exchange the green loom. So you will have an extra loom to wire the road speed signal. The only wire missing now is one additional wire for the bypass plugs.

2. Sure

Would we need the extra wire in the bypass plugs if we wanted to take out the procede and run with the plugs?

This is why we work with straight talk here on E90post, letting everyone know what we know and don't know, and not playing cat&mouse.
