COBB: Do you flash with or without battery charger?

as the title says...

I have very limited access to power supply so I'm thinking about whether I dare to flash/backup without being hooked up to a battery charger...

I have never flashed with a charger connected. The initial flash takes about 20 minutes to do so it's not a bad idea to connect one just in case. Switching maps takes a few minutes so you should be good there.

Installed and uninstalled plenty of times no issues so long as you have a good battery

Never heard of many on COBB having to use one. With OFT I ran a battery tender which is only 1.25 Amps for a bit before starting, and then while reading and writing. My battery is 6.5 years old, and below 80% charged when I started writing. I am Kline with original 4/2007 software. There are people that are Kline 2007 era cars that have seem to have to run up to a 30-40amp charger to complete their writing with the BB flash only. I have no idea if it is flash related, Kline related or just certain cars that have problems. As far as it being the BB flash since it does not happen on other flashes, I would just say that correlation does not imply causation, but it is interesting.

Cobb is really forgiving too! My battery died mid way flashing after it had saved the original .disconnected cobb and tried to turn it on the car with battery charger and no go .. I was freaking out at this point, I Plugged cobb up and initiated recovery right away.

Install/uninstall I use a battery charger. Changing maps, nope. I'm normally changing maps at the pump anyway, between my reg pump gas and the E85 map. Long live E85.

I have a 2 minute commute to work. Car never gets a good charge so I do run one when I flash. Battery went too low at end of install and the engine got ugly, had to uninstall and then reinstall flash. No problem, just took more time than I wanted to spend.
