Heads up - Wheeler Dealers (Tuesday @9pm, Discovery HD).

Received an email from Sky saying that the new series of Wheeler Dealers was starting.

Time - Tuesday at 9pm on Discovery HD.

However, upon checking the Sky menu is saying episode 7/12 So may be mid way through

Episode details - Lamborghini Urraco: Mike heads out to Poland to bag a Lamborghini Urraco. But the price of this classic is rising due to Lamborghini's 50th anniversary - can Mike bag a bargain?

Either way, it's got to be better than some of the normal dross of an evening.

After starting to do my own car restoration on my 205 and seeing what they did to a 205 I can not take the programme or Ed China seriously any more. He's either a very good actor or an utterly shite mechanic. Lots of info on the car on the 205 forum but in summary.

If they can't find a buyer for the car they get one of the crew to pretend they are a buyer and film a sequence. This is what they did with the 205.

The car was eventually sold to a member of the forum and turned out to be an absolute nail.

The car was smoking in the episode when Mike bought it. Ed claimed to fix it with new gear linkages (this in itself is ridiculous even in TV land)

The smoke turned out to be a huge crack in the block. This was one of many problems they had missed or botched.

Fair point.

Now how about a show where Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is run over repeatedly by a badly maintained car? I'd watch that.

IIRC, Isn't the Ed China's assistant (Paul something) the actual mechanic and Ed China is just a actor who is (apparently) famous for engineering as he made a drivable sofa or something like that.

There was a very old post about one of the cars they worked on being flogged on eBay and it was acutally being sold under the user name Paul something too!

I like the show. I know it's not all true. But it's still fun to watch. Hint: Bear Grylls does not drink his pee on TV, either.

Yep I agree, its a good show to watch and is quite enjoyable to watch (irrespectable of whether its fake or not). I have the BMW ones recorded on my Sky+ infact (sad I know )

I guess it shouldn't surprise me it's fake but disappointing if true.

Poorly attached MDF in changing rooms could injure someone though lol.

I was going to find that clip from Blackadder II where they're on the ship with Tom Baker as the mad ship's captain who drinks his own pee. Somewhat discouraged by my YouTube search results that show quite a few people do drink their own pee. For pleasure.

I have come to expect such behaviour from the likes of rich

I don't really care if it's faked. I'm more concerned about people watching wide eyed as a complete cunthammer goes about a salvageable classic with a socket set when he clearly doesn't have a fucking clue.
