Aftermarket alloys

I currently have 17" alloys on my 320d with wider rears but want to go up to 18" aftermarket alloys all round. The new wheels are correct fitment for my vehicle but I'm just wondering if this will throw up any problems with the ECU or speedo?

No problems, if you keep the tyre diameter close to factory sizes. What is your new 18 inch wheels width and offsets front and rear? Also what tyre sizes?

I was thinking of going for these wheels:

http://www.alloywheels.com/8x18_Inch...oy_Wheels_Only

Tyre size: 225/40/R18
Fitment: 5x120 et40

According to the site that is correct for my car. Will that be ok yeah and have no affect on the speedo or ecu etc?

No problems at all. Tyre size is fine. It will fit to your car, but in my opinion wheels are sunken in and needs spacers to front and rear. If you want wheels to be more flush with fender.

Also i think you can find better looking/fitting wheels like VMR.

Like these, they are similar looking. http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels_v705.html

Do you want to use 225/40/18 front and rear? What car you have E90 or E92? and what year?

Should fit without an issue.

Cheers guys! It's an E90 325d M Sport. Not really over keen on the design of the link you sent me so will probably go with the other ones. What's the deal with spacers then? Am I correct in just thinking they sit between the wheel and the part of the axel that holds the bolt fitments? (Can tell my level of expertise with those terms can't you? Haha)

No worries. The correct term is wheel hub and yes spacers come between that and wheel, so it pushes the wheel more towards the fender. Like et40+ 10mm spacer is the same as wheel with et30. With spacers you also need longer bolts.

Is your car pre-lci or Lci?

Vmr has other options too. http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels.html
