Anyone know Padstow well?
We are off on our family holiday at the end of the month for 10 days - just wondering if anyone knows of any good places to visit and also to eat - I love seafood so would like to find some good seafood places to eat at apart from the well known Rick Stein places.

I did Cornwall at the end of August for 10 days and loved it. Went to Rick Stein's F&C place, was fantastic, never tasted F&C's like it. Didn't think it was too expensive either. That was the only place we visited in Padstow but would happily recommend the following if you're traveling around...
Sams on the Beach in Polkerris Lewinnick Lodge nr Fistral Beach, Newquay Food for Thought in Fowey

We were down there end of August too.
Normally have a day at watergate bay, have breakfast at Jamie Olivers restaurant there, very nice, some time of the beach and then about 20 min drive roughly to padstow to have a walk around and fish and chips. Amazing from that place. Typical A/B roads but well worth it. Fistral is a nice beach too If you are in that area and dont fancy the beach all day which i think might be way too much in this weather, what we did this time is go to the eden project and then head over to watergate bay mid afternoon and fish and chips at 7, kids in pj's, off to sleep on way home. |

Yeah, Fistral & Watergate are great, we stupidly didn't book for Jamie's hence heading over to Lewinnick Lodge for breakfast. Couldn't fault their full 'Cornish' breakfast for £9 and made me instantly forget about Jamies!! Really enjoyed Eden Project, the food there looked amazing too, we unfortunately took butties so only bought elevensies
