On a Flatbed to the Dealer! Woooo :(
Pretty sure my HPFP went. Hopefully I get my car back soon! UPDATE: Just got a call back from the dealer...I wont get the 335 back for at least a week :/. Gotta get new high pressure fuel injectors.

Seeing that made me realize how screwed I’d be if I ever needed my E8x towed…zero % chance it would fit cleanly up such a sharp incline.
Could be HPFP…but could also be alternator, starter, battery. All sorts of fun stuff.

In all seriousness-how do they tow cars that are too low to climb such a steep incline? Are you just shit out of luck if your car is too low?

I hear you. I slapped my back rim in a curb- couldn't drive it. 10,000 dollars later I'm back on the road! Thank god for GEICO and accident forgiveness

A good tow guy especially flatbed drivers should know to carry a stack of wood in a scenario like this. When my water pump failed back in March, my lip slightly scraped on the incline. But it wasn't that bad because of the smooth surface of the bed. That or people should carry wood ramps or something in their trunk lol if they know they're due for water pump failure, HPFP and etc.

Edit: Yeah, the guy had a stack of wood planks and used a few tricks to make sure nothing scrapes.

Good luck OP it's a sick feeling (because a lot of times BMW dealers aren't sure about what's wrong with a car that's doa)....believe it or not my car has never been on a flatbed. Whenever it would stall I'd either coast to the shoulder or simply fire it back up while in motion. It was so frustrating having the dealerships tell me there are no codes so they can't do anything, as if the stalling never happened. Screaming in the dealership in front of other customers seems to work from my experience, because even I ran out of patience, visit #4 for the same issue.
The good news it's been 41 mos. since all that BS, 100% reliable since! |

Lol I think so too. That was the first time I had my car towed so I didn't even think about that at the time but people should consider this idea.
