E90 new tires and rims

Hello everyone, i got new tires and rims for my e90 lci 328i and i got new rims for them, but because i upgraded it from 16" to 18" the car feels much heavier, is it me or the car? I upgraded from run flats to goodyear sport tires.
( bad pic because i just got them and its night)

I'm curious what you were hoping to achieve by the switch in size ?

a larger tire will increase steering effort.

what size did you get? if you had 205/16's and went to a 225/18, it would be a noticeable difference in steering effort.

Those look like OEM BMW rims? If so, they are typically very heavy. BMW makes a sturdy rim but they have some serious weight to them.

I went through this same situation. I "upgraded" from 16" rims to 18" rims with 225/40 tires. Significant increase in the unsprung weight. Car looks and handles way better (plus with 12mm spacers in the rear), at the cost of slower acceleration (noticeable) and slightly harsher ride.
I'm actually going to be replacing the wheels/tires with lighter components.
