Winter Tire Test Results

If anybody is interested, I have the latest test results for winter tires from a german car magazine. The size tested was 205/55-16 on a Mercedes C350. At least the car is similar to ours.

1. Goodyear Eagle UG 7
2. Continental Winter Contact TS810
3. Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D
4. Hankook Icebear W440
5. Michelin Primacy Alpine
6. Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero
7. Firestone Winterhawk
8. Nokian WR G2

These are the 8 tires with the mark recommendable. Maybe this gives some help in buying new winter tires.

Thank you! Were they all rated equally? Do you know what kind of conditions they excel in? (deep snow, ice, dry, etc) So hard to find a good comparison out there. Tirerack does a great job, but obviously only for the brands they carry.

They did test the tires in the north of Sweden, so there are perfect winter conditions to test in the snow. Subzero temps and lots of snow. The tests for wet and dry were done in Germany.
Best tire in the snow was the Goodyear, in the wet the Continental and in the dry the Michelin.
The Dunlop is on par in handling and breaking in snow with the Goodyear. The best in snow traction is the Goodyear. Hope that helps.
