Debadge gone way wrong

Decided to debadge my sgm 330xi. After I took the badges off I saw the trunk had been repainted and they just sprayed right over the 330xi with clear coat it chipped galore and now it looks like hell. Spent the last hour trying to even out the clear coat took meguiars compound to it then finished it with 205 polish and then a wax and it still looks like hell. Any suggestions on what I should do?

put the badge back on. what color is the car now and what was it before?

your gonna have to get it repainted man. man that sucks! only other way i could think of is buy a carbon fiber cls spoiler but your also gonna have to paint that.

hope things work out man.

Do you have pics? Maybe instead of debadging, just pain the emblem? Sucks.

The coat under the repainted part was a sparkling graphite metallic as well. I tried to stick the badges back on to see what it would like but the clear coat chipped up so far the badges don't cover it up

Wow thats so unprofessional of the painters. Are you fixed on leaving the badge off? I have a 330xi (same color) too but mines debagded because I was too lazy to put them back on when I got a new trunk.

I'd like to leave it debadged. I like the idea of a csl spoiler, I have a m3 rep front bumper with a splitter for it in works, ag m359s on spacers but I don't know if the spoiler painted to match the sgm would look to ricer or not..... What's your thoughts or anyone for that matter what's your opinion?

If there's no clearcoat under the badge, then no amount of sanding, polishing or waxing will make that area look normal. You will have to apply clearcoat to the non-coated area and the surroundings. Only after that you can try to even it out with polishing.

I would do an LCI rear conversion since I would be getting a new trunk. It's completely OEM too.

Maybe a M3 logo would cover it.

i'd take it to a shop. it will probably cost more than you'd like, but it's better than making it worse than it is now.
