How can you recommend this guy? He drives an Audi which we have previously established is a rebadged VW.

Id say whichever transporter you go with, learn from other's misfortunes on this forum and do the following:
1) Take lots of pictures of the car before shipping 2) Take at least a few pics of the car on the truck before it leaves 3) In the contract, write down the current mileage and note that any more than a couple additional miles added to the current mileage is unacceptable. 4) Make sure the driver also signs the contract and not just you If you're moving, a lot of people pack things into their car (maybe just the trunk?) as a way of getting things shipped to their new place... www.unitedroad.com I used them for a SC to PA transport in an open carrier and had no issues whatsoever. They delivered it just a few hours after they picked it up in SC and were the cheapest as well.

Reliable carriers. They carry for the big three Detroit car makers. I used them to ship my 3 series from MI to AZ. First class and no problems.
