Dim sum meet went well, then my E93 broke down again

Hey guys,
it was great to meet everyone today.

I hope someone took some food home.

I made it home before golfing, then was driving toward The Alan Road, and "ding"---Red Battery Light; loss of power steering; loss of air conditioning. The car didn't stall this time, but i was about 15 metres from going on to the highway when this thing broke.

This E93 335 is a friggin lemon.

I took a peek into the pulley area and, yup, the serpintine belt ain't in good condition.
Is there something about the N54 engine that eats these belts, or is my auto show special, just that, special?

I can tell you, my next car ain't sparkling graphite.

I'll let you know what the SA says tomorrow after I have it put on a flat bed to the dealership.

HalB, will you diss me if I post this on bimmerfest too?

yes, this is the second time in 6 weeks. Last time, I had just come off the gardner expressway, this time I was about to hop on the alan road then the 401. Again, a close call.

spoke to bmw assist and will have a flat bed here when I call in the AM

That is outright life threatening! Imagine this occurred to you on the highway and you get driven over by a truck? You should give the Dealer/BMW shit for letting this happen a second time. Let them know this situation is unacceptable and demand that they fix this problem for good. It's for your own good man. Good Luck with that!

That really sucks Mike. So you didn't make it to golfing after dim sum. I hope your next car will have none of those issues.

When the weather gets a bit cooler I will send mine in to make the top a bit more water tight. That's the only issue with mine for now. (Fingers crossed.)

**** BTW: Monaco Blue cars always do better. Who needs all of those Space Grey cars?

i know a new car is in the works, but the breaking down of the power steering and air conditioning, resulting in (or vice versa) the alternator belt shredding, is still of unknown cause. The guys at the shop are taking apart the motor and trying to figure it out.

Are they taking the car back and giving you a new one? Hope so...

new car is on the train from halifax, now (came in on Undine)...
It's NOT sparkling graphite, it's E93 335 monaco blue; saddle interior; 19 inch rims, comfort access; sports package; 6FL (dunno if the logic 7 is in it or not); bluetooth/bmw assist. The whole "new car" thing came about before any of the pulley issues came to light. I've kept both belts that shredded.

Apparently for MY08 Logic 7 is no longer included in the premium package which is bundles with the E93 335i, and is replaced with BMW Assist.
