Found A 335xi I Like Now Need Some Advice

OK so I said screw it and decided to get a E92 335xi this month. I found one with a bit over 20k miles on it. It is fully certified and has the options I want.
Premium Package
Sports Package
Navi
Cold weather package
etc

It is a 2011 and dealer is asking $33,891. I will be putting down 12k and financing the rest. My question is how much can I talk them down from $33,891? What should my first offer be?

will you be trading a car in? If so I had better success leaving the asking price as-in and focusing on getting the best trade-in value....

Yeah I was at a Prestige BMW yesterday and almost bought a 335i but the interior was saddle brown and I did not like it. My car was appraised at 9k.

Here is the carfax report for the one I'm going to look at this week
http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory...KF9C59BE262198
and this is the car

That's a great price but offer $31k just to see what they say.

Can't tell if car is at prestige BMW because i am in class but if it is prestige does NOT haggle AT ALL. Last year we were looking at a F10 and there was one 300 miles away but they were charging $800 to bring it. We offered to split the cost and they stayed firm at $800. They lost a 58k sale over $400.

Fast forward to June they had a 2010 E90 335 listed for $33k. Looked at it drove it, it needed tires and it didn't even have leather so I offered $31k and they told me to walk. I got a much better car a week later and out of curiosity a month later I checked the 335 at prestige was being offered for 30k LOL.

Bottom line Prestige sucks. We bought 5 cars from them before but they are a rude dealership. No customer loyalty or anything

Oh its at Tenafly. I also saw a few 335s there. Same.attitude as prestige. They will say they have the lowest car in the area and can only knock off $250.

Tenafly knocked $250 off a car when i tried to neg and 2 days later knocked $1k down online.

Tenafly also has sketchy cars. Cars that have been on sale for a year or more. They also tried a bait and switch on me.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't even haggle at Prestige because once I got a feel for the interior I decided to walk. I did get a trade in price from them though. They offered 9k I can probably get 12k if I was to sell private.

I wouldn't settle for a slushbox in an 335i, IMO

One of the first things I checked is how long the car has been on the lot
carfax shows 08/23/2013. So this car is a fairly new arrival.

No I need automatic. I drove quite a few 335s (tuned and stock) and the automatic is no slouch. To each his own I guess.

If that's the price listed on the Internet there is likely no more wiggle room. Because dealers want to get you in the door they will frequently put their best prices on the Internet. A few hundred bucks here and there but you most likely won't be getting lower than that.

That seems like a pretty good deal, so they might have already reduced it. Being that its CPO'd dealers *usually* say they have X into the car and won't go too much lower. I would offer 31,000 but wouldn't expect them to go much lower then 32.8k (which I would happily buy it for if I happen to like the car). Obviously everything depends on each dealership and each specific car, but goodluck!

What's the exterior/interior look like and colors?

I bought a 2010 335xi (e90) a week ago here in Salt Lake City from a private party. 29k miles. It has the M sport package, cold weather package, premium package and an extra set of M wheels with snow tires on 'em.

I paid $29,500. Mine isn't CPO'ed or anything, and I bought it from a private party. I would try to get as much as I can for your trade-in; dealerships don't really go down that much on the car you're buying itself.

One thing you may be able to use as a negotiating point is the fact that the car isn't provided with the style 161 wheels that are indicated as standard on the 2011 335i xdrive Sport Package. Where did they go? Why were they changed to what looks like a style 340 wheel? You want at least $500 off for this change from factory provided parts!

That is a pretty good price. I picked up a similarly equiped used 2011 335i last December with only 9100 miles for $32.5 from a BMW dealer. Not CPO as I was the first registered owner.

Won't matter. The price they paid for the car is the price they payed for the car. Hopefully it'll work but I'm not hopeful on that bargaining chip.

I'm not too worried if I don't get a price I want I'll move on. I am in no real rush to buy.

Don't be so fast to walk away. It's a really good price, it's what you're looking for, you may want to work on them to tell you the history. It was a lease return, but why does Carfax indicate there's an Ohio connection??? Was it leased from a customer from this dealership? What type of person was the leasee? Older, younger, male, female? They may not tell you, but it may give you an idea towards if it was modded or not. What is it about this car that's causing it to be listed well below kbb? Have them pull the service records from the key fob. Was everything done at BMW per the 2011 service requirements? If not, have them explain or take money off.
