BMW rain sensor...standard equipment?
I am a little confused about the rain sensor that comes equipped on the e90. I purchased a 06' 325xi that was a wreck, literally, and built it up and reregistered it in NYS. I have only had the car for about a year so I cannot account for any equipment and modifications that may have been done to it prior.
So here is my question. On my wiper stalk I have the push button with the green led for auto wipers. I also have the selector switch for automatic lights. There is also the wiring harness for the rain sensor tucked into the headliner above the rear view mirror. However, there is no space (the small rectangle in the shaded area) for the sensor itself. The only reason I could think as to why it's not there is maybe the prior owner replaced the windshield glass with the wrong part. Is there a way to determine if the glass is factory original or not? Also, could someone provide the link to the aftermarket sensor that was being sold on bavauto.com I can't seem to locate it. Thanks for the help (Btw the paint is matte/gloss two tone) |

That's fine.
Hood, pillars, roof, and trunk are gloss. The rest of the body minus the staggered wheels is matte. There's a pinstripe that's hard to see in the pictures that separates it. |
