I'm very enthused about the i3 and would hope to have one for a commuter car. The design elements created by Adrian van Hooydonk, Richard Kim and Benoit Jacob made have lightened a tall, bulky "monoform" - as described here.

But, I do find myself agreeing with a comment that was made on Jalopnik. It's as if the i3 is squatting over another car.
