E9x owners....

So many discussions on how much it is to maintain the e9x. So I want to know from all owners that DO NOT have a warranty, how much do you spend a year on maintenance? I want the good and the bad. For those who have had a lot of luck and not spent much, please chime in. Same goes for the people who have not had such good luck.

I think this would be a very interesting discussion seeing as there is still much controversy as to how reliable (or should I saw unreliable) our cars really are. Obviously forums and the internet in general escalate problems, so I think if we can get enough people to post, it would clear things up.

Write the year of your car, mileage (when purchased and current), mods, time you've owned it and repairs/cost. I will start.

2007 335i coupe.
Mileage when bought the car: 32k
Mileage now: 37k
Mods: cobb AP, FMIC
Repairs/cost: New spark plugs (100$)

Lets everyone get on board and do a real comparison/conclusion on how much the average e9x is to maintain out of warranty.

Like you said, if everyone else can input than we can develop a decent database of information. I'm also interested to see what everyone spends on maintaining E90 series cars.

Yeah, DIY for spark plugs. Factor in tool for spark plug $200

Spark plugs are an easy job and as your quote suggests the BMW tax is added.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Not bad at all. Even without CPO warranty the turbos and fuel pump would have been replaced, so other than the water pump you have had a reliable car.
