will 1 liter of......

will about 1 liter or less of bottled water in my coolant system cause mineral deposits? Becuase I removed about 1.5 liters of coolant from my system and added water wetter and Kirkland Signature bottled water (i know im an idiot for not going out and buying distilled). There is calcium and magnesium in that bottled water, but im pretty sure that the amount of it in bottled water is very very low. And also, do you think the amount i poured in (about two small bottles) would really cause any damage?

If humans can live even 1 day after drinking that water, the car should live for 10 years exponentially.

I wouldn't sweat it. Any adverse effects won't show up for like 5-6 years, but I don't think there will be any. And you'll be due for a complete cooling system flush in 3 years anyway.

I agree.. ur fine, dont worry about it till the next major service when its done anyway.. if ur really worried wait till the next oil change.. but if its so small and u added it with water wetter, which purposely protects against the bad stuff in the water, im sure it will live..

people are more concerned with entire coolants filled with crap water or always filling up when low with water.. not the 1 minor time

cheers

While the minerals present in the water you poured in may cause a nanometer of scale on yoru cylinder walls, it is still WAY better than some crappy Southern California garden hose water.

Think about your coffee pot, bottled water takes forever to scale up the heater while tap water will do it in a few months in some areas.

When I flushed the coolant on my s2k I filled it up with water straight from my garden hose. Three years later it was fine. I wouldn't sweat a bottle of water.
