Is this right?
Car (08 E92 335) was in dealership for over a month for a rough idle/cold start issue. During the course of that, the car was completely reprogrammed with an "updated software version that came out a couple of months ago". On the drive home, I got two DSC errors and a start assist error on the iDrive along with amber brake light/traction control lights. The car has never had any issue related to this before. Hell, I've never had the check control gong before. I immediately returned the car and my SA called me about an hour later and said " somehow the steering angle sensor never initialized during the software load, the shop foreman has reinitialized it and is driving it now, there's nothing physically wrong with the car, it was a glitch."
OK this is one of the systems on the car I haven't learned that well yet. Plausible or BS? Thanks in advance. Jeffro |

imho something is wrong....but I thought all these issues were behind. My car spent all of 2009 having those problems, finally resolved in 4/10, and not one single problem since...g/l

Plausible.
My steering angle sensor went bad and I had the same errors. So I assume if the steering angle sensor is not initialized it can cause the same issues as a bad sensor. |

Picked it up this morning, SA said that actually something had been disconnected during troubleshooting the other problem that caused the issue, so I feel a little better about it. On the drive back, I put the car in situations that the DSC and traction control would intervene and it was fine. We'll see what happens.
