Laptop to Tv streaming

Need some help please, I have an Acer5732Z laptop which has no HDMI socket only VGA socket and two USB sockets. My Panasonic HD Plasma Tv has multiple HDMI sockets/ VGA Sockets/ Ethernet socket. What do I need to buy to stream BT Sport from laptop to TV.

apple tv would do this on a iPhone or iPad & iPod touch ...don't know how apple tv works on a pc

VGA cable and an Aux cable will do the trick..

I wish they'd build an app on the PS3!

The PS3 will play most files except those that are Cineva protected.

If you only have vga then this is your only choice. Though you then have to run a separate sound channel.

Does your laptop have a display port? you can get a display port to hdmi cable...

I started here, but this is like a modding bug of its own and I now have a dedicated media HTPC and network drives...

Apparently the PS3 won't support the MS silver light plugin required.

Easiest option by far is VGA cable phono cable (or play sound from laptop, but that's poor)

Medium term option would be to get a network streaming device of some, A DLNA streaming server, so that you can "send to" (on your windows 7 laptop) that device - and wirelessly stream.

I do hope there will be a PS3 BT sport app at some point though, or same re: TiVo on Virgin..

You need something like the Imation Link or Netgear Push2TV, allows you to stream from laptop to TV via wifi without restriction on content
