HELP! RDSPORT QUAD installation problem...

if anyone has ideas, or has done this before please let me know. Right now I am thinking of giving up. Ok so attached is my situation. As you can see, the hanger for the OEM exhaust on my e90 335i is bolted the the bottom portion of the rear bumper. However, in order to make room for Dual tips, I must cut out this section of the bumper. If I cut the section out, there will be no where for the stock OEM hanger to be grounded/bolted to, to keep it stable. What do I do?

Are you doing this by yourself? Any good exhaust shop can remount the hangers in a different location for. That would be my best suggestion.

+1...

The thing is that his stock exhaust is off, and he can't drive with the new one on.

There will need to be some coordination if he's going to a shop because he'll require some way to transport the exhaust back home (unless he leaves it).

But a muffler shop can easily put hangers in a different location.

yes i know someone with a truck. Im from seattle, and in Seattle I could take my car to a shop and theyd know what to do. However out here in Idaho, they scratch their heads at the project....sucks ass. Nothing like leaving your car with people who don't know what theyre doing and wont take their time to do it right. WHICH is why im not leaving my car with anyone out here. Thats why im doing it myself. I had the muffler shop remove the stock muffler, so I could cut the bumper myself. I have a dremmel and everything ready to go. Then once i make the cut myself, make sure its a good finish and looking close to stock, I will have them mount the RD sport.

My buddy suggests cutting that rear hanger bar thats coming downwards in the picture (attaching to the bottom of the bumper). I dunno what to do, I im about to go and cut it...

UPDATE***

I created a template for the cut that I wanted on the bumper, and marked the bumper up with crayon because it can easily wipe away if you make mistakes. I outlined the cut strongly so there can't be any mistakes. I just dropped it off at the shop here in my small town because my dremmel wouldnt cut through the bumper. It was weaksauce and would take at least an hour or more per side. Shop told me half hour and they will be meticulous...well see when its done. hopefull i wont

I have RD Race twin exhaust. I don't know about the hanger, but the shop that did the install had to cut the bracket that's bolted on the bumper to make the exhaust fit.

I installed this system successfully myself. you DO have to cut/grind 3 steels hangers off per side, that means 6 in total. there are 2 that supports the rear bumper (the ones you mentioned) and the other 4 (2 per side) are the stock muffer hangers from the car. The install is not hard if you have the right tools. took me about 8 hours start to finish... that includes removing the stock muffler.

Yeah, but he has an E90 and you have an E92. This exhaust was designed for the E92.

exhaust is in! so the shop charged me $25 bucks for the work, and the exhaust $80. Time is money, and I just didnt have the time today. Its a bit quiet, because the shop didnt want to remove the resonators in the front...
